“I’ve got soul but I’m not a soldier…”

I’ve grown up living a privileged life, I’ve seen the colors of the world, I’ve seen the beauty it has to offer and never spent a day  hungry. Many believe that because I’ve lived a life well provided for (at least financially) that I should be happy-go-lucky without a care in the world. If for one second, someone close to me bothered to look beneath the surface they would see the true terrors of my past and the events that have lead me to where I am today. I can promise you that my poetry will not speak to all of you but to those of you who have ever felt the bitterness, the pain, the anguish of being alone. This one is for you.
